Approaching the due date is an important stage of pregnancy. All the anticipation leading up to the due date makes for a wonderful feeling which you should savor. Things can get emotional but remember to have fun and ensure that you savor and treasure each moment along with your partner. Getting ready for a baby is a long and tedious process and you can get carried away in the most important moments.
Here are a few tips that will help you keep yourself on track.
Do your prep work – Have a Hospital Bag!
Getting admitted into labor is not something you can do at your own pace. It happens quick and at most times at an unexpected moment. So make sure that you are prepared in advance for the big moment. Get a hospital bag ready. Keep your reports, scan and other documents in it so that you don’t have to go hunting at the very last moment. Make sure you keep all the necessary items required for your stay at the hospital in this bag.
From comfy pajamas to essential toiletries – stack it all up. Also, remember to pack up for your newborn. Soft and warm dresses, nursing bras, diapers, bottles are a few things you should not miss. If you can’t live away from your phones and iPad make sure you take those too and the chargers for them. (Though most won’t suggest crowding yourself with electronics at a maternity ward!). Add a few packs of snacks and food items. You will need it while nursing the baby.
Spend quality time with loved ones
The last few weeks approaching the due date is the ideal time to spend some time with the family. It is the time when you shouldn’t be pushing yourself hard and while resting you can spending quality time with your better half. Once the baby comes along it will be hectic with very little time for loved ones. Meet your friends and family and they would love to meet your baby bump too!
Get loads of rest
The next few months will be the toughest in your life, both physically and mentally. You will need all the rest you can get. Make sure you sleep well and also eat healthy to make sure that you have the strength to go through labor. Finish off any pending work that you might have officially or personally since you might not get time after birth for these things which might seem trivial. Rest, rest more and then get a lot more rest! REST!!
The final few days are the best time of pregnancy so make sure you enjoy every moment and treasure it for life!
